Annual Report for Public Libraries

Minnesota's public libraries are required by law (Minnesota Statutes, section 134.13) to submit annual reports to the Minnesota Department of Education. The data is submitted to the Institute of Museum and Library Services for its Public Libraries in the United States Survey. The 2025 Annual Report opens February 2, 2026 and must be completed by April 1, 2026.

When You're Done:

• Print a draft version of the Report using Print and then Template to take this to your Board.

• Have your Board approve the draft Report and sign off on the Approval Form prior to April 1.

• Make a copy of the Report and Approval Form for your own records.

• Send original Approval Form to Verena Getahun at State Library Services. mde.lst@state.mn.us OR Verena.Getahun@state.mn.us 

• Copy Krista kross@selco.info on (above) Approval Form email to Verena at SLS.
